Peaceful place

Sometimes the Gods just don't play fair.
Sometimes life sucks.
Sometimes we need a little place to go to, just to be still and calm and peaceful.
I thought that I would share one of my places today - a place that does that for me.
A place where the stillness and beauty help salve a ragged soul.

Because at least one of my blog friends really needs this at the moment.
I have not much to offer her but a little bit of my peaceful place.
I hope it helps.

What's your 'peaceful place' like?
Have you described it somewhere?
Maybe you have a photo?

I go to my cottage, where the wild things are, and I sit by the water and walk through the pines and listen to the wind, and just breathe.

Would LOVE to have a peaceful place like this to go to
Being in the city, a starbucks latte & my noise canceling headphones are as peaceful as it gets! x

A beautifully serene place, BB. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I always find time spent on our pond to be peaceful. Here are a couple of photos:

My peaceful place is in a hot shower, with steamy water and scented soap, and...well...take my word for it folks: You don't want pictures.

I actually wrote a poem about it once... I might even post that. Cheers - I love your Bunyip Hole and wish everyone had one of those.

(oh - and ha ha - word verification is "wellysiv" - which is apt because to get "welly" we sometimes need a place to "siv" our thoughts. I know, long shot but I work with them)

Very beautiful and peaceful. We all do need such a place with all that taxes our heads, hearts and souls these days.

One of my favorite places is to go to the temple. There is no place like that for me. There are several to choose from, though I have to travel from 3.5 hours or over two days, depending on which one I visit. But there is simply no comparison for the peace and beauty, serenity and revitalizing power of the temple.

Still, I wish I had a little quiet pond/stream to visit--like in the Rocky Mountains.

For those like Jenny, a picture like BB's can "take you there" and is a good "place" and "quiet grove" where you can regenerate.

Thanks, once again, BB. As always, you do a fab job!

Six months or so out of the year my peaceful place is in our back yard.

Look at the gorgeous patterns in that tree bark! Love it!

I wish you and your friend both peace. I'm glad you have such a spot to go to to find it.

I have many favorite spots. The gravel bar on our stretch of the river is such a spot. I can spend hours picking over the rocks looking for fossils and washed up bits of glass and other debris. Sorting through the rocks helps me sort through my thoughts, and the gentle rippling of the water soothes my soul. In the mornings when I feed the horses, shoveling the manure from the stalls and the area in front of the barn helps me clear my thoughts. In the evening, I like to stalk the sunset as it sets over our neighbor's pasture from the tall grasses on our side of the road.

Beautiful spot, BB! I don't really have a specific spot, now that I think of it. Oh- well, being outside in general, especially in the sunshine, being close to my horse, smelling him, working with him, watching him eat grass.
Hope your friend finds peace soon!

Well today my peaceful place is your blog. What a lovely photo. I love the undulating texture in that tree, I've never seen a tree like that. Thanks for giving us a peaceful place.

I think I will just set my lawn chair down there for an hour or two and just get lost in the reflection on the water...........

BB, I love your photo - what a beautiful, peaceful place! I also checked out the 4 lovely, peaceful places showing so far at the end of your post.

I don't blog, can't share a photo, but back in my hiking days in Atlanta I had a favorite trail along the Chattahoochee River that ended in boulders up over the water. I enjoyed heading for the rocks and would sit there with lunch and a paperback (always had a pack with me), watching people canoe or kayak down the river while I sat a little above it all!
