LIFE'S FUNNY LIKE THAT! The party begins...

Pour the chardonnay and break out the champers!!!

It's the fabulous Debby's final chemo treatment today (February 19) and I'd thought we (all her blog buddies) might try and help her put a smile on her dial and help her celebrate.
...
Now seeing as how we can't hold an actual party for Deb at HER place
(Tim might get one of his guns out if I break and enter)
I thought I'd hold a virtual one here.
Well, here, there and everywhere!
Soooo... everyone who knows Deb...
- wonderful, witty, wise and (at the moment) a little weary -
is invited to get their party pants on to take part.
...
My gift-wrapped offering is of Deb's favourite Granite Glen critter:
'Mine' the Puppy...

Hope it makes you smile, Deb!

No matter whether you feel like this, you seem to keep showing us all how to face trouble, hold yourself together, and eventually, look at the funny side of it all! You are a rare and special woman...

*blows whistle loudly and blinks hard*
...

If you'd like to join in the fun, all you have to do is:

  1. upload your 'Life's Funny Like That' post to your blog
  2. put your link in the comments field here (at the foot of this post)
  3. I will add your name (and image if I can get hold of one easily) to the list below.
It's easy as pie!
...
Hopefully we will have a nice little reading reference centre for Deb as she recovers from the final blast. Of course, all 'just comments' are welcomed too!
...
Let the (virtual)
Kick Chemo to the Curb Par-tay
commence!
OK, let's look around...
Jeanie's brought some scrumptious cake...

Pam (A Novel Woman) has brought along her party pooch Buddy ...

Hal of Dispatches from the Away Nation Dad has gone wild!

Hal this totally cracked me up!

... is it just me, or is there seems to be some sort of canine theme emerging here?

Alison from Three Times Kewl has added some seriously kewl colour to the party!

Lavinia Ladyslipper of The Birdbath Chronicles has brought some stirring warrior footage as a tribute to Deb (when I work out how to work the clip I'll post a pic!)...
.
Scotty from The Frog Prince has joined the fray with a sparkling shiraz, some potato salad, and a big bag of Twisties for the kids... (so thoughtful Scotty, Dash and Violet are into them already!)
.
M+B from Me & Boo brought some extra nibbles...

Diane of Loess is More...brought a little animal attitude...

Heh... You can also find this great pic of Diane's at Deb's favourite site I Can Haz Cheezburger (or whatever the heck it's called!)
.
Shirley from Rhubarb Whine is here with more balloons and good wishes...
Annie of Don't Make Me Yell at You has started singing! Pam of Thriving in the Chaos has brought her boys and the root beer...

Mary Paddock of Jumping off Cliffs brought some music to get the groove happening,

The good doctor at Muse Swings has brought plenty of PINK and BUBBLES - essential party accessories!Jayne of Our Great Southern Land has been twittering merrily in her sidebar!

.

Pencil Writer from Pencils and PostIt Notes is here too with big hugs for Deb...
.

Donna from The Comfort Place is whoopin' up a storm,
.
Brenda of The Mother Trucker is ready to rock,
.
Kate of Utah Zen is making me see double and brought monster cookies!

I'm Julie of Blah Blah Blog ...

...brought some more laughs!!

Danielle Michelle of Buried in Colorado gussied up (another) dog...

isn't he handsome?

and Gem of High on a Windy Hill sends some hugs Deb's way too.

...

Holy cow people!!
You HAVE REALLY come to the party with this tentative little idea!
Who'd a thought an internet greenhorn like moi could host a virtual party...
it totally blows me away!!
Thanks so much for making it work...
If I have left anybody off this list, please forgive me.
It has not been intentional... leave your comment and link in the comments field for Deb and other partygoers to find...
I am left with this comforting thought:
There are some seriously GOOD PEOPLE in this world.

Cheers my dears!
BB

Now, this is something to celebrate! Yahoo! Congratulations Debby. Only one chemo treatment to go! I like the sound of that.

I'll be back later to see how the shindig is going.

Not like I need much incentive to put the chardonnay on ice, girlfriend, but this is something truly worthy.

My post is scheduled for Thursday morning. Looking forward to the celebration!

Thanks so much for partying it up in honor of my mom's last day of chemo treatments. It was alot of fun hearing what people had to say about her! Wish we could all be there with her in person, but rest assured, she sounds so much happier and more energetic than she has in months. Lots of love to everyone, raise a glass of nosh for me. :)
