I live in western North Carolina, beautiful Smoky Mountains. It's a place people come to visit to enjoy its beauty. Living here, it is easy to become blind to it, but every day I see something I hadn't noticed before. And you are exactly right, I see it only when looking closer.
That is cool. I wish my camera worked the way yours does. :)
As for the hidden beauties around me? I live in the Missouri Ozarks. It's an easy place to love at first glance--rolling hills that approach the size of mountains, beautiful views, lakes, four seasons, etc. But unless you look for it, you'll miss the best parts of it--the wildflowers (my favorites are the hardy little daisies and the birds foot violets), the funnel web weavers that gather forces during the night and spin entire villages between dusk and dawn, the cotton tails (bunnies) taking dust baths in the middle of deserted dirt roads, and the hidden rainbows caught in the feathers of the starlings.
Just beautiful! I'm absolutely inundated with snow right now and tend to look over it's beauty. But this morning when i went out to warm up the Jeep i noticed a perfect snowflake on windshield. It was exquisite. Thanks for helping me remember!
