I grew up with an outdoor dunny. One that had the pull chain and cistern up high on a stand. The chooks used to come in and watch us, and we'd chatter to them while doing out business. Twas not so cool at night dodging chook - e - poo though...
No-one ever bothered shutting the door... so we left it off!
