Ice on the ground ?
I'm with Jayne--looks like icy rocks, however with bits of dead grass and one little sprouted seedling of some sort.

Julie in Aust here...Is it those water saving crystals? You know...the ones you put in your pot plants that swell up and hold water for the roots?
Water splashing?
Good grief! I've got no idea.
Mud pies? Tissues allowed to fester? The scrapings from gumboots?
The only thing I can think of that the houseyard and washing machine would have in common is that you empty your water with soap suds out there: on your garden? in a storage container? a tank? And what would the offspring have to do with it? Play and splash in it? Blow bubbles?
I have copied your picture to enlarge it and to make it smaller but I didn't stand on my head to look at it. So haven't got a clue!

Julie from Australia!!!!! Clever Julie. Apparently one has to be a self-confessed non-gardener in a dry continent to recognise spilled water-saving crystals plumped up by rain!!!! Thanks to my kids, it looks like spilled ice at one corner of my 'garden'.
