Weather Wednesday... after the (dust) storm

It's TRUE.
I actually remembered my own weekly report this week...
wonders will NEVER cease!
...
I so wanted to bring some greenery to this section of the blog... but Mother Nature is just not playing ball yet. The only green around is the watered lawn (the bits that I actually remember to put the sprinkler onto!) and everything else seems dusted with, well, dust. That's what a dust storm will do to you...
This shot was taken DURING the storm
of the SUN.

Call me crazy, but it looks for all the world like the moon to me....
...
The skies have cleared somewhat since this was taken, and I am optimistically hanging out clothes, washing the Prado, trying hard to ignore the forecasts (watched kettles and all that) in a superstitious effort to draw some rain onto our corner of the world.
Of course today I had to break the last of those 'rules'.
My sneak peak has revealed the following:

weather oct7
...
How can heavy showers (Sunday) bring less than 1 mm of rain?
I ask you!
...
In summary, if it EVER rains here again,
I shall be behaving EXACTLY like this guy...
frolicking in the green-ness!
brangus_0824
(More about him next post!)
...
What's your weather report look like this week?

Read my blog..I guess it's been a hundred years because we have been having the opposite here...floods. Not flooding now, but we are having a bit more rain and Fall weather temp. wise.

At the risk of chasing it off.. the MOMENT I hit 'publish' on this post... it started to shower. Please let it stay so I can re-enact the bull green-grass rub...

*fingers crossed*

Been trying to post my comment for a while. Wordpress and OpenID just have it in for me lately. Here's to Take 2. Hope that wet stuff keeps falling - because we all want to see you do the bull green-grass rub. We insist you hand the camera over to Mr I while you do.

Meanwhile, our forecast is for cooler days and "possible" showers. Till Tuesday when the temperature hots up again. Blah. Don't like it when it does +30.

We woke to snow this morning. Not completely crazy in my area but still. Had to say no to my early morning walk. I am not that dedicated yet.

I fell asleep to the sound of thunder and lightning and winds. I savored it, since we are probably winding down to the end of thunderstorms for this year. It is wet and overcast right now, will begin to rain in earnest about 11. It will be in the 50s today.

Late check-in before bed Wednesday (Oz time)... had 9.5mm of rain which is lovely, but apparently fell only directly on the house paddock and failed to get over a hill in any direction (weird).

Lee - sounds chilly!

Debby - ah. The sounds (and smells) of a storm... should be bottled and sold!

Bush Belle - welcome!!! A new Aussie bush chick - fabulous... but snow? What a crazy country we live in!

Tracey - heh! I will try... imagining myself with the self timer, trying to get a shot of me butt-skyward on the lawn. Hoping no-one arrives unexpectedly mid-shoot!!

T Lee - I did read your post and gasped! That's incredible... sooooo much rain. Feeling for you. Wishing we could alleviate the problem... *sigh*

Rain, rain and more rain. Wish I could send it all your way! Forecast - 1 good day/ 1 day of rain. M/T/W cold, cold. Lows in the 20's F at night. Snow in the mountains already.
I enjoy the cooler weather - I just wish the rain would stop. Makes it difficult to get winter preparations finished.

Hope your showers stick around and bring you much need moisture :)

Still getting rain here in South Dakota -- I REALLY WISH it would stop so I could get my roof done. *sigh* Dry today, rain tomorrow. possible snow on Friday... I'm not ready for that snow thing.

I hope your heavy showers show up and stick around a bit so you can get all of the fields good and soaked. And then I hope it happens again and again until you are saturated.

Blessings and prayers for the wet stuff.

SNOW!!! Well it didn't snow this morning but we got snow and now it's just bloody cold. Right now it's 27 F, clear and sunny. I'm so glad that you are getting some rain! And i would probably be rolling in it just like that bull, who is gorgeous btw!

I'm glad you got a bit of rain and hope you get more!! I really wish I could send you some of ours. We got over 20 inches in September and have already gotten almost 7 inches this month. More than the norms for south Arkansas this time of year. At least the temps have been cooler. It's stayed in the 60sF today.

I look forward to hearing more about that bull!

I closed my eyes, drew back the curtain to see for certain what I thought I knew
Far far away, Bush Babe is weeping, but the clouds are sleeping
Any rain will do

I have a coat, with plastic lining bright colours shining, wonderful and new
And in the east, the dawn is breaking, and the world is waking
Any rain will do

A crash of thunder, a flash of light
could this be it, some rain tonight?
But the clouds are fading into darkness
I am left alone (ahhhh!)

May I return to the beginning
The light is dimming, and the clouds are too
The world and I, we are still waiting, still hesitating
Any rain will do .

I love the photo of the bull. Dad sold our favourite Brahman Bull "Fred" yesterday. But we have another one which doesn't have a name yet.
We had 10mm of rain the other day and they a forecasting more for this afternoon. 'Send her down Hughy!'
