Hands...

This is kinda Wordless Wednesday ... with a few words!
...
I want to take a whole series of images of two hands...
not in the Heath Ledger sense, but in the Granite Glen generational sense.
Today's post is my first effort.
...
My son has amazing hands.
Long fingered, pale, artistic, expressive hands.
My father, on the other -ah - hand, has broad, work-hardened, leathery, sun-blackened hands.
They are, without doubt, an incredible contrast.
.
What do you think?

Those are some serious working hands! Just the color and the lines shows that he has worked hard. I love the contrast. I love working hands.

Great photo.

Yes, great photo.
I think both hands are equally expressive, though.

Andrea - I reckon you can tell by just looking that you can trust those big ol' hands.

Jeanie - yar. The "other" hand is coming up soon. Thought I'd break everyone in gently.

Alison - I agree (obviously). Dash's hands are incredible - his fingers are like frogs fingers, they are so long. But not so green.

COOL! I do mine in "FAN" form so you can see them all!

Try to solve the guessing game on my Wordless Wednesday!

Wonderful photo! It tells so much...age and youth, wisdom and innocense, familial love, a sense of passing on and sharing love. Very, very nice!

Just think, your father's hands may have once been much like Dash's and Dash's may one day look like your Dad's. That is a wonderful portrait of Grandfather and Grandson.
